The two presenters are Leslie Freehill and Lexy Ware, who will be joining us over Zoom.

Leslie Freehill from the law firm Pines Bach LLP in Madison will be giving a presentation on the history of abortion rights in Wisconsin and the 1849 anti-abortion law as well as the current status of litigation challenging the enforcement of that law. Leslie the legal challenge that asserts the 1849 law is not valid, and will speak to the effect of the 1849 abortion ban and the Dobbs decision on the medical community.

Lexy Ware is the Vice President and Call Line Coordinator of POWERS, or Pregnancy Options Wisconsin: Education, Resources and Support, Inc., and will speak to the effect of the overturn of Roe v. Wade on abortion access, reproductive rights and reproductive health for women in Wisconsin.

The outcome of the election for the Wisconsin Supreme Court will have a huge impact on these issues.
