SNAP Program
When I worked in schools as an educator, children came into the classroom and immediately asked, “Can I have something to eat?”
I always provided food. You’re probably asking, “Why don’t the parents feed them?”
Many reasons. Without SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), the working poor may not have resources. Maybe they have no money for additional groceries. Most likely money that month went to pay for rent or other bills.
When the government cut SNAP benefits, they removed funding that provided food benefits for 42 million people. Sixteen million children will lose daily nutritional benefits. If children don’t get proper nutrition, they will get sick or not be able to function in class.
When I was attending school, I never took time to eat. A teacher asked me how a car runs. I said, “Gasoline”. “Yes,” the teacher said, “Food is your gasoline.”
The elderly and disabled who are unable to work or work enough hours will also lose SNAP. Some have no families to bring food to them. SNAP has programs to bring them meals. Without these programs how will they get food? How will they eat? Poor nutrition will impact the health and quality of life of our senior and disabled population.
What is happening here? Our president wants to build an elaborate, gold ballroom at the expense of our children, elderly and disabled population.
This is not democracy!
Please research and see what kind of person is running our country.
Do you see what I see? A very selfish man. Please, let’s feed our vulnerable people.
Let’s make the USA what it used to be.
