Language is important.   Language can be used for good or evil.  

After the assassination of Charlie Kirk, the rhetoric on the Right promoted violence against those of the Left, and blamed the Left for the assassination. 

However, we are once again in a situation whereby the assassin is home-grown, in Utah, from a Christian-Right, gun-rights, Republican family.  He killed another Christian-right, gun-rights, Republican.

We need to know the facts before we start pointing fingers and fanning flames of knee-jerk violence against someone else or another group.  In a civilized society, violence is NEVER the answer!

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) reports that for three consecutive years (2022-2024) every extremist-related murder in the US was committed by right-wing extremists. Violence is Never Appropriate! 

Language can be used to incite people to commit violence. Language can also be used to uplift and encourage.  We all have choices.

Language IS important.  Let’s not promote violence against anyone or any group.
