Why are elected officials on a “HIT LIST”?

by George Arf

In the early hours of June 14, a Trump-supporting, Christian Nationalist gunman assassinated one highly respected Minnesota (MN) State Representative  and her husband and severely injured a MN State Senator and his spouse. The gunman left a “Hit List” of 45 names, including some elected officials from Wisconsin.

Trump’s repeated insults and threats over the past decade toward Non-MAGA groups have encouraged his followers to ACT UPON his hateful rhetoric.

LANGUAGE MATTERS! Following the assassination:

  • Wisconsin’s own Congressional Representative Derrick Van Orden called MN Governor Tim Walz “stupid and a clown”.
  • Senator Mike Lee of Utah  mocked the assassinated victims in MN, claiming, “This is what happens when ‘Marxists’ don’t get their way”
  • Trump himself refused to call MN Governor Tim Walz regarding the assassinations because “He’s a mess. So I could be nice and call, but why waste time?”

HAVE THEY NO DECENCY?

We have become a country that applauds assassination of persons with different opinions.

What happened to the United States’ ability to welcome different thoughts and ideas?  To embrace our DIVERSITY?

What is WRONG with the American psyche that we can no longer sit down and talk with one another? Accept that different thoughts and actions are OK?

We have lost our way as a country!
