For weeks, Bryan Steil’s constituents expressed concern about the dramatic changes in the federal government and the proposed cuts to Medicaid, Social Security and Medicare. They have filled Bryan Steil’s offices throughout the 1st Congressional District, hoping to meet with him. They’ve asked for listening sessions and town halls. Steil ignored us.

We sent certified letters to each of Steil’s constituent offices inviting him to this town hall. He didn’t even bother to respond, despite the fact he was back in his district on another Congressional recess.

During the week Steil was supposed to be back in his district in February, meeting with constituents, he was a no-show.

Other Representatives were back in their districts that month and held town halls and listening sessions, including Republicans Glenn Grothman and Scott Fitzgerald. Although cowardly, even Republican Reps. Tom Tiffany and Tom Wied held telephone town halls. Senators Ron Johnson and Tammy Baldwin also took time to hear from constituents. Bryan Steil did not.

It turns out, Bryan Steil went to Florida instead of talking to the people in his district.

And now, during another Congressional break when Steil could host a town hall, instead he’s attending TWO political rallies for Republicans.

Bryan Steil is failing to do the most basic part of his job: TALK TO HIS CONSTITUENTS.

So that’s why WE held a town hall for his constituents: because we believe your voices matter!
