These letters were recently placed in residential mailboxes in Kenosha County. Similar letters are being mailed in Kenosha County and are appearing elsewhere in the state. They are a form of voter intimidation by religious zealots who are MAGA supporters.
This is a pathetic and disgusting attempt to use religion to intimidate voters and try to suppress the 1st Amendment rights of members of our community.
Residential mailboxes are Federal property. The person/people who placed these letters in mailboxes committed a Federal crime, punishable by a fine of up to $5,000 per incident.

As Americans, we are concerned about religious zealotry and its growing threat to our democracy. These letters are but one example of what we are witnessing in our communities. Attempts to ban or restrict reading materials in public schools and public libraries based on one particular set of Christian values are another. Villainizing LGBT children and adults and immigrants based on those values, still another.
Religious zealots are demanding that their particular form of Christianity be privileged by our government, that our government be shaped only by their Christian values and they imply that in order to be a good American, one must share those Christian values.
Project 2025, also called the Presidential Transition Plan or Mandate for Leadership, is a 900-page document that lays out specific plans to establish a government that is infused with “biblical principles.” It was written by long-term loyalists to Trump who were his advisors as president. Of its 307 authors and contributors, well over half of them served in Trump’s administration, on his campaign or on his transition teams. Project 2025 was funded by the Heritage Foundation, a major campaign donor to Trump, who funded the RNC convention in Milwaukee. Trump’s name appears in the document over 300 times There is significant overlap between Project 2025 and the plans Trump has articulated in campaign speeches and his Agenda 47 plan.
The central agenda of Project 2025 is to impose Christian religious zealotry on the United States through radical changes to our government. Project 2025 portrays people who don’t support Christian Nationalism as enemies of our Republic. Trump has echoed this sentiment during his campaign by calling Democratic politicians and people who don’t support him the “enemy within.” He has said more than once he will use the U.S. military against American citizens who don’t agree with his thinking.
The people who illegally placed these letters into mailboxes throughout Kenosha County are showing us they support religious zealotry and want to establish a Christian Nationalist form of government.
Together we must stand up and speak out against Christian Nationalism.
We will not be intimidated!
