July 23

10 am to 12 pm

Hawthorn Hollow

880 Green Bay Road, Kenosha WI

We are pleased to offer an excellent summer, outdoor event. Please join us for a private Wetlands Walk at Hawthorne Hollow Nature Sanctuary and Arboretum.

This is being provided by Wisconsin Wetlands Association. Our guides are Tracy Hanes, Executive Director, along with Alice Thompson and Artiomow.

We will have a “behind the scene” visit to a wetland restoration and ravine repair site that received significant federal and local funding to repair an eroding ravine- a critical feature of the Pike River Watershed plan that was depositing sediment into the Pike River. Wetland restoration was accomplished high in the local watershed to trap and slow water and reverse decades of erosion into a cut ravine. The ravine was also filled to slow erosion.

We're looking forward to an enjoyable morning walkin' and talkin' wetlands!
