“The Urban League will host its annual “Juneteenth Celebration” on Saturday, June 24, 2017 from 12:00 pm to 6:30 pm at Columbus Park, 2003-54th Street in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The event is free and open to the public.
The event commemorates the day the last slave was freed in America on June 19, 1865. Our festival offers a variety of food vendors, youth activities with a jumpy house, local choirs and praise dancers and concludes with DJ’s and live entertainment. Music genre will be traditional Old School and R&B, featuring Motown classics. The event attracts families and youth from Kenosha County, Racine County, and our neighboring communities.
We invite the entire community and our neighbors to join us as we celebrate the occasion and enjoy a fun-filled day. Sponsors, vendors and businesses interested in supporting this event or purchasing an advertisement in the Souvenir Book should contact Yolanda Adams, Chief Executive Officer, at 262-637-8532.”
